The best time to schedule your holiday light installation is between late September and October. During this period, the days are getting shorter, evenings arrive earlier, and the weather is generally mild with fewer chances of delays. By scheduling early, your lights will be up, on a timer, and ready to put you in the holiday spirit—without worrying about last-minute weather or scheduling challenges.

While many people wait until after Thanksgiving to start decorating, this can often be too late. Demand is much higher at that time, and installation schedules fill up quickly. To ensure your home is beautifully lit for the season, we recommend booking your installation in late August through early October. This way, your display will be ready well before the holiday rush.

This is one of the most common questions we receive. Every project is unique, and costs can vary based on several factors—such as the amount of lighting, the size and height of the property, project complexity, staffing needs, and any specialized equipment required.

In general, holiday lighting installations can range from a few thousand dollars and up, depending on the size and scope of your display. Some homeowners prefer simple, elegant designs with just a few strands of lights, while others choose elaborate displays featuring thousands of LEDs, animations, and themed décor. Larger installations naturally come with a higher investment, but the joy and impact they create are truly priceless.

Whatever your budget, investing in quality holiday lighting will make your home festive, inviting, and a source of cheer for everyone who passes by.

Yes—your business should absolutely consider installing holiday lighting. Christmas lights aren’t just decorations; they’re powerful tools for marketing, visibility, and enhancing customer experience.

From a marketing standpoint, festive lighting draws attention to your storefront or office, encouraging people to stop in and explore what you offer. This is especially effective for retail locations, as holiday lights naturally attract and intrigue passersby. Pairing your décor with banners or signage for seasonal promotions can also make your offers stand out even more.

For customers visiting your business, a warm and festive atmosphere can create a positive impression, making their shopping or service experience more enjoyable. This added touch of holiday cheer can boost satisfaction and encourage repeat visits.

In short, professional holiday lighting is an investment that not only enhances your brand image but can also increase foot traffic, improve sales, and spread seasonal joy.

The best time to schedule your holiday light installation is typically between late September and October. During this period, the days are getting shorter, and evenings arrive earlier—making it the perfect time to get your lights up before the nights become even shorter. The weather is generally mild, ranging from warm to cool, and there’s less chance of delays due to bad weather compared to November.

By scheduling early, your lights can be installed, timed, and ready to enjoy well before the holiday rush. While many people wait until after Thanksgiving to decorate their homes with Christmas trees and other indoor décor, waiting too long could mean missing the opportunity to have your home fully lit with festive holiday lights.

We also experience higher demand as the season progresses, so scheduling in late August through early October ensures you get your installation completed on time, without the stress of last-minute scheduling or weather delays.

Absolutely not! Using staples is unprofessional, potentially dangerous, and can leave small holes in your siding or shingles that may cause problems over time. Instead, we use custom-designed plastic clips that are non-invasive, blend seamlessly with your display, and leave no trace when removed. For wreaths or garland, a single, minimal puncture may be needed to secure an anchor or hook, but it’s done safely and professionally.

We use premium, commercial-grade LED lights for all our displays.

We are fully insured, and safety is our top priority to protect both the integrity and aesthetics of your home. JVS Christmas Lighting carries comprehensive general liability, statutory workers’ compensation, and automobile liability coverage for all vehicles, equipment, and operators.

No, unfortunately we cannot. We are unable to guarantee the quality or workmanship of lights that we do not provide. Integrating your own lights into our custom system could cause unexpected outages and would void our season-long warranty. Most personal lights are store-bought and may not match the brightness, color, or durability of our professional-grade LEDs. Additionally, any damage resulting from these lights would not be covered under our insurance.

We offer branch/trunk wraps, canopy wraps, and hybrid styles for trees and shrubs. Depending on the size of the tree, we’ll recommend the appropriate bulb size and spacing to create the best-looking display.

After January 1, we begin removing, boxing, and storing holiday lights throughout the month. Removals are scheduled based on location, weather, and the complexity of each display. All removal work is completed between January 2 and January 31 (weather permitting), unless you request to keep your lights up for the entire month. Special requests to extend your display must be made by December 1.

Can I Change the Colors in My Display?
Absolutely! Just let us know in advance so we can update your package. Color swaps are usually free, though other changes may affect pricing. Our Service Program gives you the flexibility to customize your display. If you want to change colors after installation, a service fee applies. For updates for the following season, notify us by July 1, and we’ll be happy to adjust your display.

For reference, some companies require you to purchase, store, and maintain your own lights. With JVS, we purchase the decorations in the first year and replace them as needed each season. Our clients are never responsible for buying or storing lights due to wear and tear—this is all included in our program.

The time it takes to install professional wedding lights depends on several factors, including the venue size, type of lighting, and equipment required. Typically, a professional decorator or wedding lighting specialist can install basic lighting fixtures in an average-sized reception space in 4–8 hours. More elaborate setups—like hanging marquee letters, draping chandeliers, or creating custom arrangements—may require additional time. Delays can also occur if extra parts or specialized tools need to be sourced before installation.

No matter how simple or intricate your design, hiring an experienced professional is key. A skilled wedding lighting specialist ensures both the technical and aesthetic aspects are handled perfectly, leaving your guests with a stunning and memorable experience.

Our goal is to provide you with a spectacular display for many years. And the best part is… You can get support totally free!
